Event: WWE Monday Night RAW
Airdate: Monday, May 14th, 2012 (USA Network)
Location: The CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA
Results by Tony Acero

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

Backstage: Triple H and John Laurinaitis
Big Johnny didn’t know Brock Lesnar was going to attack Triple H, but couldn’t pull him off and disallow Triple H from standing on his own. He says that Trips has his support. Trips has something to say, but he’ll say it in front of the world. He also wishes Big Johnny he best of luck in his future endeavors match with John Cena this Sunday at WWE Over The Limit!

Standard opening video airs…and we are live in Pittsburgh, PA! And it’s Time to Play The Game!

Triple H In Ring Promo
Corporate H makes his way to the ring, with his arm in a brace. We get highlights of Brock’s attach on Corp two weeks ago.

H says everyone wants to know his thoughts on Brock Lesnar. He says it’s not the physical portion that bothers him so much–he’s had worse. He’s offended by Brock’s statement that he had to bring “legitimacy” back to the WWE. It’s about time someone brought that up! The day before Brock arrived, Trips went toe-to-toe with The Undertaker in front of over 70,000 people and the largest viewing audience ever. He lists the people offended by Brock’s statements, including Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. He’s always been part of the WWE Universe, and Brock Lesnar offends him.

He also admits he was embarrassed. He’s embarrassed because he bought into Lesnar’s trap–his hype. The same hype as 2002–when Brock was The Next Big Thing. And Brock shot to the top of the WWE–and he left. Then he got to the top of the UFC–got his ass kicked and quit there, too. Then, Brock returned to the WWE, where he thought he take John Cena–and he gave Cena everything and John never quit. John reached deep inside himself and beat Brock Lesnar. The next night, was told “no,” and Brock Lesnar quit.

Brock’s theme welcomes…

Paul Heyman! And some lawyer, apparently. Heyman hides behind the lawyer, and claims he gets it. HHH is giving the big spin–damage control. What every promoter says when they lose their biggest star. But this is an open and shut case–breach of contract. Heyman says they brought a fighter into an entertainment company–and didn’t like it when he wanted to fight. He provides Trips with legal paperwork, serving him with a lawsuit. Brock Lesnar is suing Triple H–and likely the WWE–for the millions of dollars he’s owed. Brock is very disappointed on a professional basis. And on a personal basis, he expected a fight–not a corporate sycophant who never lived up to the hype. Heyman says he’s glad Brock broke the left arm, because H is writing the check with his right. Triple H intimidates Heyman physically, but backs off. Still, The Game ain’t happy.

Triple H: “You tell Brock Lesnar…he’s gonna get everything he deserves!”

Triple H leaves, but Heyman isn’t done. He informs Triple H that he put his hands on him, prompting lawsuit #2–assault & battery.

Paul Heyman: “And Triple H…I will see you…in court.”

Something apparently happened in the ring, as Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were distracted. We get highlights of Big Show and John Laurinaitis from last week. And if Big Show doesn’t apologize, he’s fired! Not sure if that’s before or after he wrestles Kane, though. Plus, John Cena returns tonight–and will go face-to-face with Johnny Ace.

Commercial Break. Nope, not quite yet!

Tag Team Match
WWE Champion CM Punk & US Champion Santino vs. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Daniel Bryan
Buring Punk’s entrance, we get highlights of his loss in last week’s handicap match.

After Punk’s entrance, we finally do go to commercial.

Match 1: CM Punk and Santino vs. Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes
We’re starting with Cody and Punk. Lockup, and Cody edges Punk in the corner for a lengthy conversation. Cody works the left arm of Punk, dropping an elbow on it. Punk with a right, then a body slam. Punk sends Cody to the corner, goading Bryan to tag himself in. Bryan grins and says no. Punk with a kick to the gut and a whip to the corner. He runs right into a boot from Cody. Cody sends Punk to the ropes, but Punk holds on. Cody runs and Punk sends him over. Bryan is in and Punk sends him over as well. Santino is in and tells Punk to fly through the ropes. Punk obliges and flies into Rhodes and Bryan. Santino is looking to fly as well, but hilariously gets caught up on the ropes as we go to break..

Back to the show, and Santino is in the ring with Cody. Santino has the upperhand but it’s shortlived as Cody hits a fist to the forehead of Santino. Cody with a kick to the chest of Santino. Rhodes hits a right, but Santino blocks and hits a couple of lefts before sending Cody into the orner and runs into the back elbow of Rhodes. Rhodes tags in Bryan and whips Santino to the corner. Bryan with a dropkick in the corner to Santino. Cover for 1…2..NO! Santino kicks out. Bryan drops a few knees to the neck of Santino and covers again for 1…2..NO! Tag to Cody. Cody hits a right, Santino tries to fire back, but Cody hits him again and gets a front suplex. Cody with an elbow drop and a pin for 1…2..NO! Cody with a right hand to the head then a tag to Bryan. Bryan kicks Santino in the chest. Bryan with another kick, and another, one more! Bryan with an arm bar. Santino reaches the bottom rope, requiring Bryan to break it. Santino tries to battle back, but Bryan hits a hard kick then tags in Cody again. Cody with a kick of his own, then a body slam onto Santino followed by a rolling knee to the face of Santino. Pin for 1…2…NO! Cody sends Santino into the heel corner and tags Bryan in. Bryan with some more kicks that Santino sells pretty well. Bryan goes to trash talk Punk then hits Santino. Bryan tags in Santino. Santino flips over, launches himself for the tag but misses. haha. He jumps up and finally gets it. In comes Punk. A right, a kick, a dropkick, running knee, bulldog! He stares a hole into Bryan the entire tim. G2S attempt but Cody ducks, only for Punk to kick him right in the head! He covers for 1 but Bryan comes in! Punk is up and gets ready for a G2S! Bryan escapes and heads outside the ring! Cody is behind! He’s looking for the Cross Rhodes, but Punk slips out and sends Cody to the corner, where Santino has the Cobra ready! Cody deflects it, though, and turns into a Go 2 Sleep! Pin for 1….2….3!!!!
Winners: Santino and CM Punk (***1/2)
Well told story and a nicely put together match. Santino got his ass kicked, and did a great job in selling every move that Cody and Bryan dropped on him.

Match 2: Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox
Lockup and Beth overpowers Alicia into the corner. Beth with a right, but Alicia ducks out of it then leap frogs over a running Beth. She tries for a monkey flip but Beth grabs her legs and tosses her aside. Alicia in the corner as Beth runs and hits a clothesline. Beth sends Alicia in the corner as Layla makes her way out to the top of the ramp. Beth chopes Alicia all the way up the turnbuckle then bench presses her off the corner while staring at Layla. Beth smirks then drops Alicia. Beth, calling for the Glam Slam. She hits it and pins for 1…2…3
Winner: Beth Phoenix (NR)
Another short ladies match.

Layla applauds Beth, smiling and Beth isn’t done proving a point. She is about to attack Alicia and Layla comes running down to save Alicia. She hits a faceplant, sending Beth out of the ring.

In case we were unaware, they recap the Big Show/Ace situation from last week for the third time. It appears we are going to get Kane vs. Show.

We’re BACK, and here’s Cole and King who want us to join them on the pre-show before Over the Limit where Zack Ryder takes on Kane….and you guys said the WWE wouldn’t give us closure…ha!

Video recap with some of the most intense music set to the most mundane of storylines in Show and his voice-making-fun-of antics!

Heeeeerrreeee’s Johnny! Ace and Otunga come out to join ringside while Show takes on Kane.

Match 3: The Big Show vs. Kane
Lockup! Show with the go behind into a belly to back suplex, turning THAT into a front faced headlock. He gets some leverage as Kane tries to hit some rights. He’s getting them in, but they look soft. Kane sends Show in the corner and hits some shoulders. Kane with a right hand but Show turns it around and sends Kane to the corner, throwing some rights and lefts. Hip toss from Show. Show with a headbutt to the back of the head then a whip into the corner. Show runs but Kane moves, kicks the ankle, and sends Show headfirst into the corner. Kane hits the ropes and flies off with a crossbody. Kane with some rights then gets in a cravat from behind. King is talkin mess about Ace vs Cena and Johnny gives him the stink eye. Show with a clothesline! Bodyslam! Show climbs up the corner, he’s lookin to splash! Ah, but Kane moves out of the way. Kane hops off the apron into a goozle, but Kane kicks the legs and hits an uppercut. Kane goes for a whip, but Show whips him back, over the ropes, to the outside.

Both big men on the outside now. Show whips Kane into the barricade! Show with the spear! Kane ends Kane in the ring at the count of eight until Ace gets on the mic. Ace wants an apology and he wants it now. This distraction leads to Kane goozling Show then chokeslamming him. The chokeslam looks horrible, as Kane didn’t even get Show up (although, admittedly, that’s got to be tough).
Winner: Kane (*)
Pretty bad finish, there, but I’ll say that they had a pretty good start, actually.

After the match, Ace gets in the ring and tells Show to look at him and get up…like a man. Ace says that last week Show made fun of his voice and calls it quite stupid to do to the leader. Ace wants to know if Show is trying to set an example in the back. He’s not going to take it and demands an apology, a good one, or he’s going to fire Show. Show grabs a mic. He says that he’s been thinking long and hard about what he’s going to say tonight, but before he does he wants Ace to know something. He says that he was 23 when he broke into the WCW. He’s done it all since then. There’s a part of him that can walk away with his head held high, no regrets, but the truth is he loves what he does. He loves waking up each day and performing for us, the fans. It’s not just the matches, it’s the kids in the back, the friendships and bonds that he has made. Show is bringing out the Knucklehead worthy tears here. He doesn’t want Ace to erase 18 years for something petty. If he wants to fine Show, that’s cool. If he wants to bar him from ever getting a title shot again, that’s fine too. If Show, imitating Ace’s voice offended him, Show is sorry, but if there’s an ounce of decency, Ace will continue to allow Show to do what he does.

Ace says he didn’t hear Show say that he was sorry….um, ok. Show apologizes again. Ace says he doesn’t think people have heard him in the cheap sheats or in the back. Show apologizes again. Ace says that Show’s gotta prove it! He wants Show to beg him. Ace tells Show to get on his knees and beg him. Ace requires the blow job position, or he’s firing Show. Show is about to drop, thinks better of it, tries to go down again, but struggles with the decision once more. THINK OF THE CHILDREN, SHOW!!! Show gets in Tebow position, then stands back up. Show says fine, he’ll beg, but please not on his knees. Ace says that Show disgusts him, and all Show’s fans disgust him. He’s going to do what’s right for business. He says he’ll reconsider….reconsider what?

Ah, he’s reconsidered it already between the ring and the ramp. Ace wishes Big Show the best in….ah, but Show is on his knees, now! Show apologizes in tears for making fun of Ace’s voice, and he’ll never do it again. He wants to know if Ace is happy now!? Ace is not happy, and as GM of both RAW and Smackdown, he wishes Show the best in his Future Endeavors. He fires The Big Show.

Well that went on way too long…

Back to the show, and in case you missed what JUST happened, The Big Show got fired and cried like his puppy died.

To break the somber silence of that horrible, horrible moment, the Funkasaurus is here!!

Match 4: Brodus Clay, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. The Miz, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler
Truth and Swagger to start. Lock up into a side headlock from Truth. Swagger sends Truth to the ropes, but Truth holds on and dances a bit before hitting Swagger with the right. Truth tags Brodus, whips Swagger, and Brodus hits a headbutt to Swagger, sending him to the outside. Dolph comes in, and runs into a wall. Miz flies off the top into a headbutt then he gets T-Bone’d to the outside! Kofi and Truth send Swagger back outside as we go for a break!

Back! Ziggler has Truth on the ground, with a side headlock. He does a bit of a handstand as we get a shot of Abraham Washington sitting up top with Primo, Epico, Rosa Mendes and Mason Ryan. Rumors are that AW is closing in on a deal with Mason. Back in the ring, Ziggler hits a dropkick and a pin for 2. He tags in The Miz. Miz kicks then pins for 2 and locks in a front face lock of his own. Truth is up but Miz hits the back of Truth. He turns, getting distracted by Brodus, and Truth takes the opportunity to hit his “excessive spinning” move. Tag to Kofi! Kofi comes in with some kicks and dropkick, then some rope work leads to a Hurricanrana! S.O.S into a pin for 1….2…NO! Swagger runs in, but Trith pulls the ropes, sending Swagger over! Ziggler comes in and runs into a headbutt from Brodus! Kofi is workin with Miz, hits the ropes, Brodus tags himself in. Kofi with the Trouble in Paradise! Brodus is in with a splash! Pin for 1…2….3!!
Winners: Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and Brodus Clay (**)
I felt like I missed an entire section in the middle of this match. Whether this is true or not, I’m not sure, but that’s what the match felt like; part 1 and part 3, with no part 2

Backstage, Riley and Punk are talking about the Yes! Lock. Here’s the most beautiful woman in the world, EVAR!!! AJ comes calls for Punk and Riley leaves. AJ just wants to wish him good luck on Sunday. Punk says that although he appreciates it, he doesn’t really trust this situation. He says that he doesn’t trust Bryan and in the short amount of time that he’s known AJ, she’s been quite…unstable, so thanks but…see ya later. AJ looks sad. MMMMM, emotional wreckage.

Our World Champion is here to join commentary.

Match 5: Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
Lockup! Orton with a side headlock. Jericho sends him to the ropes and Orton hits a shoulderblock. Orton blocks an arm drag and hits one of his own. OCver for 1…NO. Jericho kicks out. Orton bounces off the ropes and hits a kick then a dropkick, followed by a clothesline, sending Jericho over the ropes!

We’re back, and Jericho has the cravat locked in on Orton. During the break, he poked Orton in the eye to gain the upperhand. Jericho is really locking it in. Orton stands and turns into it, hits a right then a headbutt and hits the ropes, but Jericho hits a knee then drops an elbow. Jericho is on the apron and flies over with a crossbody onto the fallen Orton. It’s a pin for 1….2…NO! Orton backs up in the corner and Jericho hits a couple of kicks before slapping around Orton like a bully. Orton fires back with an uppercut, though, and another, sending Jericho to the opposite corner, then back to the original and runs right inot a boot. Jericho goes to the second rope and hits a missle dropkick and a pin for 1…2…NO! Sheamus calls Cole useless…so true. Jericho from behind, pulls back both arms. Orton is able to get out, hit a right, one more, but Orton gets hit by an elbow! Orton is sent down, Jericho goes for a lionault, but Orton with the knees up! Orton with a clothesline, another, powerslam! Jericho heads to the corner then runs into a backbreaker! Jericho makes his way onto the apron. Orton tries for the DDT,but Jericho sends him over the ropes to the outside! Jericho berates Sheamus, causing him to remove his headset. He lifts Orton and sends him into the seated Sheamus. haha. Jericho is smirking.

Jericho sends Orton in the ring. Jericho is on the apron, and Orton hits the rope-assisted DDT! Orton is looking for the RKO, but Sheamus pulls Jericho out of the ring and clotheslines him! Orton is a bit upset.
Winner: Chris Jericho via DQ (**1/2)
Nice match, and the ending is ok by me considering it adds to the fire between Orton and Sheamus. Harry, who is over at the show, takes the words out my mouth that the finish makes perfect sense and points out that Jericho is quite over.

Orton runs out of the ring and goes to Sheamus, questioning him. Orton calls says “that was my W” which is just…bad ass, I think. Orton sits on the apron and opens the ropes, iniviting Shemaus to fight. Sheamus heads in and we’re gonna get down! Ah, but a bunch of refs come down and keep them seperated.

Hey, Johnny Ace fired The Big Show.

Cole updates us on an Eve Tweet. She says that Sheamus and Orton will go one-on-one on Friday Night.

The music of People Power is here! Ace is in the ring now and he is sorry…he is sorry if John Cena is your favorite superstar, because that makes each and every one of those who are…a loser. Cena is a loser. He lost to Rock at Mania, he looked like a loser after Brock. Ace is better than The Rock and Brock combined, and when he beats Cena at Over the Limit, he will prove that the crowd are losers. There’s nothing wrong with that, though. After all, the world needs losers. If there were not losers like the crowd, there wouldn’t be winners like him.

Cena’s music hits. He’s here and there’s boos, and he’s smiling….wasn’t he attacked pretty viciously recently? He comes up to Ace, real close, and takes a big whiff. He says that desperation is such a stinky cologne, “if that is your real name.” Cena says that with the election coming up, don’t forget to vote for candidate X, because (Cena mocks Ace’s voice) “I Like People.” He wants to know if Ace is going to fire him. He was a scumbag before firing Show, but now…well, it’s worse. Cena then wants to run down Ace’s record. At Mania, Ace’s team won but he did nothing. Next, he wanted Punk removed as WWE Champion. Punk is still the champ, though. Then, his moment of glory, bringing in Brock Lesnar to become the next big thing; well, Brock lost and quit. That makes Ace 1-4. That’s not a winner, that’s a loser. He calls Ace a loser, in his face, then acts like a 5 year old, cutting Ace off with “Loser” each time he tries.

Cena says that at Over the Limit, he’s going to be a loser. Ace has stepped on everyone in the WWE, everyone in the universe, and do it all in the name of “People Power,” but the reality is that the only person that matters is himself. He polls the audience. How many people here want to hit Ace. Many hands in the air. He wants one more poll. The question: how many of them want to beat Ace so bad, he squeals like a bad simile out of Cena’s mouth. Loud cheers for this. The crowd stants a Yes! chant. He says that this is proof that Ace has no concept of reality. Cena chooses Pittsburgh to show Ace the reality of the world. Cena says that the city is known for a lot of things, The Steel Curtain. The legend of the Curtain is a group of men that decimate, hurt and destroy their opponents, and that’s what Cena will do to Ace at Over the Limit.

The second is the Penguins, obviously. Ace cuts him off, says that he was going to refer to the Penguins later on in his promo, and Cena stole that from him! hahha. Cena wants to know what he said, and Cena cuts him off with “Loser” once again. The Rock wants his gimmick back.

Cena then allows Ace to reference the Penguins. He then calls them losers. Cena says that this is interesting, now let’s hear his reference. With a few of the Penguins in the crowd, he guarantees they will enjoy them. On behalf of Cena, the Penguins and everyone here….(Cena pulls out a puck) “Go Puck Yourself.” Ace calls these tough words. He’s Big Johnny. He’s taller than Cena and better looking, but there’s something he should know. He can make a match, he can change a match, he can do whatever he wants in any match.

Here’s Eve! She’s trying to stop Ace. She has something important to say. She whispers in Ace’s ear and hands him a folded piece of paper. Cena tries to grab it out of his hand, and rips it…yeah, that was a mistake. It’s apparently from the Board of Directors. There is news regarding the match against Cena. The board feels it’s important to let the WWE Universe exactly what they are getting. Therefore, the match will be one-on-one. There will be NO Special Guest referee. No one is allowed at ringside. The only way to win is by pinfall or submission, and any Superstar who interferes in the match will be immediately terminated. Cena says the last line on the bottom half is important. Should Johnny Ace lose the match to John Cena, then he will be officially terminated.

Cena’s music hits, but Cena is not done. He heard Cole say that Ace had some sort of huge announcement, and he wants to know what it is. What is it?!

Ace has no announcement, and instead slaps Cena and then rips the paper out of his hand and walks up the ramp.

End Show.

Zack Ryder beat Dean Ambrose by DQ again. Same finish with Ziggler hitting the Zig Zag afterwards. Crowd had no idea who Ambrose was.

Layla beat Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas championship. Beth got a small pop as she’s from down the Thruway in Buffalo.

Santino Marella beat Jack Swagger and the Miz to retain the US title. Some good comedy spots from the 3.

Kofi and R-Truth over Primo and Epico (w/the smokin’ Rosa Mendes) to retain the tag belts. Funny spot at the start as Primo and Epico tried to attack Little Jimmy.

Intermission

Lord Tensai squashed Tyson Kidd. Lots of Albert chants. He stopped and glared at our section on the way back to the locker room.

John Cena beat Dolph Ziggler (w/Mason Ryan). Mason is JACKED in person. The usual “Let’s go Cena/CENA SUCKS!” chants. Cena had the house though.

Main event: CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho to retain the belt. Special guest ringside enforcer: Mick Foley. Foley got a nice pop. Jericho got on the mic claiming to be the real “Best in the World” and ran us down. Some good sequences. These 2 work great together. Jericho frustrated grabbed a chair from ringside and entered the ring. Foley took it from him, which resulted in Jericho cornering Foley and getting right up in his face. As Jericho turned around to go back to Punk, out came Mr. Socko. After Socko, it was GTS time. Crowd goes home happy.

Justin Roberts says they’ll be back soon.

Good card overall. The mini-tron is a nice touch.

I attended the Saturday night Raw house show in Syracuse. The arena was 98 percent full, with only a smattering of empty seats. The show went a full two-and-a-half-hours, including a ten-minute intermission (15-minute intermission if you count a Lord Tensai squash match).

(1) Brodus Clay beat JTG. The show opened with Brodus Clay, his dancers, and Hornswoggle coming out. Big reaction for Clay. This was your basic five-minute squash match over JTG. Brodus and company danced at the end and everyone was happy.

(2) Zack Ryder beat Dean Ambrose via DQ. Nice pop for Zack. No one seemed to know Ambrose, as he got little to no reaction. That changed by the end, as he was one of the most over heels of the night. It was my first time seeing him and he certainly has “it.” He played the classic heel and got himself disqualified 8-to-10 minutes in. A lot of heat by the time he was leaving. The only heels that got more heat were Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler. Speaking of which, after the match, Dolph Ziggler came out and attacked Zack Ryder and talked about how great he is.

(3) Divas champion Layla beat Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas Title. Standard Divas match, but longer than most, a good 10-12 minutes. Layla botched numerous spots, but Phoenix was on top of her game. Layla won with a roll-up.

(4) U.S. champion Santino Marella beat The Miz and Jack Swagger in a three-way match to retain the U.S. Title. Basic comedy match. Santino won with the Cobra on Miz in about 10 minutes.

(5) WWE tag champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston beat Epico & Primo (w/Rosa Mendes) to retain Tag Tiles. Basic tag team match. Epico and Primo won the titles when Primo hit his finisher on Kofi. Epico, Primo, and Rosa started to celebrate with the belts and Epico and Primo were announced as new tag champs. A second ref then came out and told the first ref that Kofi’s leg was on the rope. The first ref called for the bell and announced the match is restarting. Within a minute, Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise to get the belts back. Interesting, brief, false title change.

[Intermission]

Dolph Ziggler came out and said he has something new for everyone, a problem-solver, if you will. Out came Mason Ryan. Dolph told Justin Roberts that when he announces him for his match in a few minutes, he is to announce him as the “Show-Stealer” Dolph Ziggler. He then headed to the back.

(6) Lord Tensai beat Tyson Kidd. Tensai came out to no reaction whatsoever. He squashed Kidd in five minutes.

(7) John Cena beat Dolph Ziggler (w/Mason Ryan). Roberts announced Ziggler, who hit the ring with Mason Ryan and started to rough up Roberts because he didn’t call him the show-stealer. John Cena’s music then hit – loudest ovation I’ve ever heard. It reminded me of Hogan in Montreal. I guess Syracuse loves Cena. Super Cena came to the rescue and cleared the ring before the match. Excellent match, and Ziggler really deserves a title run. The crowd was on their feet the whole match for Cena. Ryan got involved, the ref got knocked down, and Cena pulled a Super Cena by laying out Mason Ryan before hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Dolph for the one-two-three.

(8) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Title. Jericho started on the microphone and really got the crowd going. Punk’s music finally hit and he came out – second largest pop of the night only to Cena. The main event was your basic 20-minute WWE Title match. Not spectacular, but still good. Punk won with the GTS.

Overall, one of the best house shows I’ve ever been to. Every performer seemed to work very hard to give it their best even though the show wasn’t televised.

Biggest Pops – Cena, Punk, Santino
Most Heat – Jericho, Ambrose, Ziggler

My good buddy Christopher Stewart sent the following results from the May 11th WWE RAW house show event at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY:

Just got back from house show at Glens Falls, NY. I’d say about 5,000 people were there which was a full house for Glens Falls. They never made an announcement so just a estimate.

Brodus Clay beat JTG who actually looked like a wrestler and not sporting the jeans and timberlands. Pretty much a squash match.

Zack Ryder beat Dean Ambrose by DQ after Ambrose reveled a turnbuckle and then used it ……was impressed w/ Ambrose though and he reminded me a lot of Raven and Billy Kidman when in the flock on the way he handled himself in the ring.

Layla beat Beth Phoenix in a back and forth match. Nothing too exciting to type here.

Santino beat Jack Swagger with the cobra. Odd match honestly as there was more playing to crowd and posing than actual wrestling.

Up next was Epico and Primo vs R-Truth and Kofi Kingston for the tag-team belts. Good match back and forth with typical high spots. Ending actually showed Epico and Primo getting the win and the neeeeeeew tag champs. Oh wait lil jimmy put R-Truth’s leg on rope so restart of the match and R-truth gets the quick pin and they retain belts.

Lord Tensai squashed Tyson Kidd in a quick match. End showed Tensai with the mist and claw.

Next up was John Cena vs The Miz. Miz cut a good promo then Cena came out. The Miz controlled most of the match then Cena came on. In the end, Cena hit all his typical moves and picked up the win. I will admit Cena looked out of it with everything going on in his life. He didn’t talk and was kinda’ just outta’ it. Gotta be tough that’s for sure.

Now throughout the night Ziggler cut three heel promos on the screen and also had Mason Ryan with him as his “insurance policy”. Great promos throughout the night. We actually left before the match was over but typical spots and we all know Punk got the win in the main event. Really wouldn’t mind to see Ziggler get a good heel push though as he has great potential.

That ended the show. All and all great had a blast as always. As far as merch. goes, I’d say about 85% of people were wearing Cena merch. yet when he came out the fans were about 50/50. Punk had a few and Miz had a lot too. Mostly female though my GF included lol. As far as I go, I was rocking my hot pink Ziggler shirt. If not obnoxious, I don’t wanna wear it lol.

Well hope my review was good and give my boy Ryan some love. He’s the hardest working man in the rumors game and great at what he does….

NOTE FROM RYAN CLARK:</.b> Thanks Chris! Appreciate your support buddy.

Event: WWE Monday Night RAW
Airdate: Monday, May 7th, 2012 (USA Network)
Location: The Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina
Results by Tony Acero

“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

We start with a recap of what happened at the close of RAW when Johnny Ace announced himself as the opponent of John Cena at “The Over Limit” before heading straight to the live portion and introducing the General Manager of RAW and Smackdown, John Lauranaitis. He calls himself the undisputed leader and authority figure of the WWE, and will not allow anyone to challenge his authority or challenge his leadership skills. Last week, Cena publicly embarrassed and insulted him by calling him an idiot and a corporate jackass. Last week, he lost his temper, and when he does so, he goes into a fit if destruction that no one can withstand. He injured Cena’s pride, and he will continue what Brock Cena Lesnar stopped. He will not apologize to Cena because this is only the beginning. For anyone that thought he’d be reprimanded by the board, he wasn’t, because the board understands that he is tough but fair. He asked that Cena not be here tonight and wants him instead to have therapy for his elbow so that come the PPV, there will be no excuses. He will be live via satellite with Cole, though, and he will apologize for making fun of his voice. He is also putting every superstar in the back on check right now that anyone who makes fun of his voice will suffer severe consequences. He claims that Dr. Death Steve Williams injured him, causing this voice. He wants to take a look at his time in Japan, then we get a slideshow of him doing work, calling it “some of the best form in wrestling.” He claims to have eyes of a champion, not a loser. He calls himself the Hogan off Japan; Stone Cold and The Rock all rolled into one. He told WWE no back then, but for one night, you will see John Cena vs Big Johnny. God Bless People Power and may God have Mercy on John Cena.

Here’s Punky! Punk claims Ace still has no clue what these people want. He’s here to help, though. He’s not going to make it easy, though. He’s not just going to tell you what they want to hear, he’s going to start with telling him what they DON’T want to see, and what they don’t want to see is Johnny Ace. This is the truth; all this is about is Ace putting the chips on Brock Lesnar and Cena beating him. Ace gets embarrassed. Lesnar did the damage and Ace is here to just pick the bones. Is he forgetting anything? Oh yeah, the reason he had to go compete in Japan is because not a damned person wanted to see him wrestle. He was a joke then, and he came back and is still a joke. Ace tells Punk to be careful. He says he will, and another thing he’ll do is watch the Pay Per View, the same PPV where he will beat Daniel Bryan. Ace wants to know if he’s done. Punk mockingly repeats the question. He asks the people, and they say no. He calls Ace stupid, ugly, and he has no friend. Is he done? Nope. He’s also a gigantic toolbox. Now he’s done. Ace says if he wasn’t training for his match with Cena, he’d pummel Punk down to the ground. But he is, so Punk will face someone who knows the word respect. He will face Lord Tensai. Punk had a feeling he was going to do that, considering his affinity to extremely talented big men. He looks forward to it. King calls this one hell of a pipe bomb drop; I don’t see it…

Ace is walking in the back, then calls Big Show stupid. He walks away, and here’s Big Show making fun of his voice. Eve is right behind him and hears. Uh oh….

Match 1: Intercontinental Championship Match
Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes
Show starts off with a hard right then a chop in the corner. He tosses Cody across the ring then lifts him up and hits another chop. Body slam from Show, then a kick to the back of Cody Rhodes .Show with a gut shot then another toss to the corner. Cody with a dropkick, goes for the Beautiful Disaster and hits it, but Show just flips him over after an Enziguri attempt. Cody wants his belt, and he’s about to walk it out. Show goes outside and rolls Cody in. Cody rolls out of the ring again, up the ramp. The ref counts Cody out at 10.
Winner: Big Show via Countout (NR)
Hardly a match.

Show grabs a mic and tells Cody not to take the coward’s way out. Cody turns his back and walks away. Show says if he’s got to go back there and find him, it’s going to be worse. Eve’s music hits, and she comes down the ramp. Hoeski chant for the lady. Eve tells Show to apologize. Show wants to know what for. Eve says, for making fun of Ace’s voice. Show says he was playing, but Eve cuts him off and requires an apology for herself, for all the people and for Johnny. Show says fine, he’s sorry. Eve didn’t ask him to say “I’m Sorry,” she asked him to apologize. She claims that outside of this business, there is no need for a 7 foot tall, 44o lbs 40 year old freak…Now, apologize for making fun of John Laurinaitis’s voice. Show contemplates, then apologizes for making fun of Johnny’s voice. Happy? Show walks out of the ring as Eve smiles in the middle of the ring with a smirk.

Match 2: Kofi Kingston (w/ R-Truth and Lil Jimmy) vs. Dolph Ziggler (w/ Jack Swagger)
Kofi with a go behind into an arm bar. He twists it but Dolph hits a right and works the arm of Kofi. In the back, Primo, Epico, Rosa and Abraham Washington are watching the match. Kofi flies into the corner and misses a kick. Dolph rolls him up for 1…2..NO! Dolph with a dropkcik then a pin for 1…2..NO! Dolph with a resthold into a front face lock.

In the back, Mason Ryan walks by and stops to watch Washington, Epico, Primo and Rosa watching the match on tv.

Back in the ring, Kofi hits a high dropkick then a clothesline. He’s calling for the boom drop, hits it! Trouble in Paradise? Here’s Swagger with the distraction. Dolph goes for the Zig Zag, but Kofi turns it into the S.O.S. and a pin for 1…2..>NO! Kofi is looking to fly, but Vickie distracts. Truth gets on the apron, too. The ref’s back is turned and Ziggler hits the Zig Zag and the pin for 1…2…3!!
Winner: Dolph Ziggler (*1/2)
Pretty short, and the flow was slightly altered with the backstage antics. Although, I like that there may very well be a build here…

Michael Cole is in the middle of the ring and welcomes John Cena to the show, LIVE via Satellite. He wants to say Thank you for all the concerns from all the fan. Cole wants to first ask for an update about his arm. Cena says that there’s no permanent damage, but he does have to get his elbow drained twice a day. A group of doctor’s have told him not to compete for the next few months. He recommended, however, that they have no idea who they are dealing with. There is nothing keeping him outside of the ring. Cole wants to know if Cena is surprised that there was no disciplinary action against Ace by the board. Cena said that they contacted him, and he told them not to fire him until after Over the Limit. Cole claims that he’s been doing some research and has been very impressed with Ace’s past and what he’s accomplished in his career. So impressed that Cena may very well be scared…Cena is frightened…that Ace is going to hurt himself. Cena will take full advantage of his position, one that every WWE Superstar wishes he had. In 13 days, he will kick John Laurinaitis’s ass.

In the back, Layla and Kelly Kelly are all smiles. We’re getting tag team action, next.

Beth Pheonix is on commentary and doesn’t want to talk about her ankle, so don’t ask. We get a little promo of Layla talking right after her win, and she says that she missed me. We also learn that at Over the Limit, Beth gets her rematch

Match 3: Layla and Kelly Kelly vs. Maxine and Natalya
We’re starting with Layla and Maxine. Layla hits a clothesline, another, swinging back kick and a pin for 1…2…NO! Natalya gets in the ring. Kelly runs around the ring and pulls the legs out from Natalya who is back on the apron. Maxine with a snapmare and hits the ropes, Layla rolls through and pins for 1…2…NO! Layla with the neckbreaker and a pin for 1….2…3.
Winner: Layla and Kelly Kelly (NR)
Are we going to get a match over five minutes at all today?

Match 4: Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho vs. Sheamus and Randy Orton
Del Rio and Orton to start. Lockup and Orton gets a side headlock. Orton hits the ropes and hits a shoulderblock then gets kicked by Del Rio. Del Rio with a whip, reversed by Orton. Del Rio tries for an hip toss, but Orton reverses with a clothesline and a pin for 1…2..NO! Del Rio gets a pin to Jericho, and Jericho fires away with some rights until the reg breaks it. Orton hits some kicks out of the corner then gets whipped into the opposite corner, and comes back with a clothesline. Orton scrapes the face with his shin. Orton works the arm then tags in Sheamus, who comes in with some hard blows to the back of Jericho, dropping him to the mat. He lays in on him with some knees then tosses him to the ropes and hits a back elbow. Jericho is able to get the upperhand in the corner with a chop but it’s shortlived as Sheamus sends him to the corner. Jericho tries for a hurricanrana but Sheamus just kicks him in the chest then tosses him on the apron and lays in on his chest. He pulls him back in and hits a clothesline, but Jericho ducks and Sheamus hits Del RIo instead. Jericho sends Sheamus to the corner once, then again, sending Sheamus’s shoulder to the corner post. Sheamus tumbles to the outside and Del Rio attacks the shoulder as we go to break.

We are BACK, and Jericho is really working the shoulder of Sheamus. Sheamus stands and Jeriucho hits a knee and locks in a hammer lock. Sheamus backs him up in the corner and hits some back elbows then a clothesline. Tag to Orton, tag to Del Rio. Orton with a clothesline, then a powerslam! He sends Del Rio to the outside and hits the rope-assisted DDT. Orton is calling for the RKO. Jericho sneaks in and Orton hits a powerslam. Rodriguez distracts and Del Rio hits an enziguri and a pin for 1…2…NO! Del RIo with some rights to Orton. Tag to Jericho and Jericho hits some stomps. He distracts the ref, and Del Rio hangs his arm up on the rope. Orton with a right to Jericho, one to Del Rio, sending him to the ground. Dropkick from Orton to Jericho! Jericho fires back with a dropkick of his own and a pin for 1…2…NO! Jericho mocks Sheamus before going back to Orton. Back suplex from Jericho, calls himself the Best in the World, and drops a fist to the forehead of Orton. Cravat from behind, locking the right arm with his leg. Orton fights out, turns into the submission,, hits a couple of rights, but Jericho hits a knee and tries to suplex, only for Orton to roll him up for 1…2..NO! Jericho is up with an Enziguri! He talks some mess to Sheamus then grabs Orton and pulls him towards his corner. Tag to Del Rio who pins for a 2 count then wristlocks the left arm before dropping it on his knees! He’s looking for the arm breaker! He screams Destiny, goes for the arm bar, but Orton reverses and hits the backbreaker.

Del Rio is crawling towards Jericho, Orton tags in Sheamus. Tag to Jericho. Sheamus with a couple of axe handles, then he hits a high knee in the corner. Sheamus calls for the Celtic Cross. He sets Jericho up, but Jericho drops down and tries for the Walls. Sheamus twists and gets out. Irish Curse backbreaker and a pin for 1…2…NO! Del Rio is in to break it up. Orton is in, RKO to Del Rio! Sheamus goes for the Borgue Kick, but Jericho ducks and Sheamus hits Orton! Sheamus turns right into the Codebreaker and a pin for 1…2…NO!
Winners: Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho (***)
Nice finishing sequence, and a nice match all around. The commercial broke the stride a bit, but it was a good finish that seems to be leading to something.

After the match, Jericho grabs the World Heavyweight Champion and screams that this is his. Interesting…

Sheamus looks concerned and helps Orton up. Orton looks to try and get up himself, then hits an RKO from out of nowhere. Good ol Orton…

Ace in the back, and he thinks Show’s apology was insincere. Jericho is here telling Johnny that he pinned Sheamus and deserves a title shot. Here’s Del Rio who wants a title shot of his own. Finally, Orton comes in wanting the same. Orton atacks Del Rio then out of nowhere, Sheamus comes flying in and attacks Jericho. Sheamus and Orton send Del Rio and Jericho running then start jib jabbin with each other. Sheamus tells Orton “anytime ya want, fella!” Ace makes the inevitable match; a Fatal Four Way for the World Heavyweight Title at Over the Limit.

Before the next match, Brodus Clay has a PSA that tells us to call our momma for Mother’s Day. Here’s The Miz. Instead of competing for the WWE Championship, he has a match with Brodus? Really?! He’s the most must see WWE Superstar and he has a match with Brodus Clay? If he wanted to see King Hippo dance, he’d play Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. But he wants Brodus to listen good, after this match Miz wants Brodus to call his momma and let her know that he had the experience of a lifetime fighting the Miz. He wants Brodus to tell his Momma that he’s The Miz…and he’s Awesome!!

Match 5: Brodus Clay vs.
Lockup and a go behind as Miz hammers away on Brodus’ head. Of course, that goes nowhere as Brodus hits a headbutt, sending Miz outside. The ladies laugh at The Miz and he looks to attack, sending Brodus to the outside for some “Nah man, that ain’t happenin” swag. Miz runs around the ring and to the inside. Brodus follows and Miz gets a kick, some more then hits the ropes and gets a hard kick to the head of Brodus. Pin for 1…2..NO! Brodus in the corner, Miz flies with a clothesline. He goes up top axe handle and a pin for 1. Miz from behind with a cravat. Brodus is able to get out but Miz hits a DDT and a pin for 1…2..NO! Miz mounts the back of Brodus and drops down on the spine a couple of times. Brodus with a right to Miz’s gut. A club to the back. He sends Miz to th apron. Miz ducks and dropkicks the knees. Miz hits the ropes and hits a knee, then locks in a chinlock. Brodus stands and hits a sideslam! Miz runs and Brodus hits a hard headbutt! Miz is in the corner, Brodus runs for a splash, but Miz hits a boot to the face! He goes up top and jumps, but Brodus catches and hits the T-Bone. Brodus with the Splash and a pin for 1…2…3!!!!
Winner: Brodus Clay (**)
The best match Brodus has been in, probably ever, and that’s not saying that it was good. Simply better than any squash. Let’s hope this wasn’t a one off thing.

We get a recap of Brock Smash once we come back, including the breaking of Triple H’s arm. Cole and King show some photos of Triple H still doing his job, at a meeting with some board members and in an arm brace. They inform us that HHH will be with us live next week, as well as extended an invitation to Brock Lesnar to come, but instead…Brock sent a legal rep. I hope to God it’s Paul Heyman…..

Brock’s music hits and we get a long wait to see who it is….

It’s PAUL FREAKIN HEYMAN!!!!

Paul introduces himself and he’s all scowled. He is here, tonight, as the representative for Brock Lesnar! The single, most dominant athelete in the history of the WWE, but a man that has booed and maligned and mistreated and underappreciated by the WWE audience since day 1. He says that today’s WWE is so much different than it was 10 years ago. It’s so image conscious. But despite that fact, it was the Exec VP of Talent Relations who signed Brock to a legit contract. Admittedly, Brock made a few reasonable and verbal demands, which were agreed to on live television – which makes every single audience member a party of that event. Brock feels betrayed by the WWE Universe and Brock should not have to feel that way, because Brock is the only man to hold the NCAA championship, the Undisputed WWE Championship AND the UFC Championship…and yet, above all else, Brock is an honest man. He said he was going to hurt people, and he did. But instead of him running down Brock’s accolades, he’s got one better for us. Tonight, Brock asked Paul personally to read Brock’s personal statement.

“I came back to bring legitamcy to WWE, that’s exactly what I did. And how was I rewarded? With the same corporate BS and politics that lead me to leave 8 years ago. I don’t regret what I did to John Cena; I embarrassed him. Another guy I embarrased was HHH. He’s always been jealous of me. HHH lasted one hour in a cell with The Undertaker but couldn’t last one minute in the ring with me. I had an agreement with the company and he broke it, so I broke his arm.”

He claims that he is never coming back, and quits! Paul drops the mic and leaves the ring.

Backstage, Michael Ealy and Warren Cole from Common Law are talking to Show about how weak he looks apologizing to Eve. Show says that now is not a good place. They claim to be tough and sexy detectives, so they can figure this all out. They both make fun of his voice as Show laughs about it. Here’s Eve with her angry face.

Before the next match can start, Johnny Ace comes out and says that tonight, instead of a one-on-one, Punk will have a handicap match against Tensai and Bryan.

Match 6: CM Punk vs. Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan
Punk and Tensai to start, with Bryan on the outside. Punk ducks a clothesline and chops but Tensai goozles him. Punk kicks out of it only for Tensai to thrust at the throat. Body slam from Tensai, followed by an elbow. Tag to Bryan and in he comes with some hard kicks to Punk’s chest. Cover for 1. Bryan with a suplex, but Punk floats out and rolls up Bryan for 2. Punk with a right hand, then a chop, another hand. Whip to the ropes, Punk ducks a clothesline and we get a double cross body. Tag to Tensai. He gets a double underhook then hits some knees and falls back. Knee to the spine and a chin lock for a short second, then he tosses Punk to the outside. Tensai is on the outside and slams Punk’s back to the pole! He sends Punk back inside then clenches the shoulder, pinching nervves. Tensai with a hit then sends Punk down and hits another bodyslam. He hits the opres and drops deadweight onto Punk. Tag to Bryan. He goes for a flying headbutt, but Punk moves! Bryan reaches for a tag, but Punk holds onto the leg. Punk grabs both legs and kicks the back. Slingshot to the corner and Bryan hits the top turnbuckle. Rolling neckbreaker by Punk. Punk sees Bryan in the corner, waits for him to stand, and hits the running knee! Bulldog! He calls for the G2S! He sets up for it, but Bryan gets out and Tensai gets the blind tag. Punk doesn’t see it until Tensai clotheslines him down! Punk tries for the G2S on Tensai but can’t lift him full! Tensai tosses Punk to the corner and goes for a splash but Punk moves, then hits a high kick to the jaw of Tensai! He goes up top! Bryan grabs the leg, but Punk kicks him off. Tensai grabs him and we get a doublehanded chokeslam. Tensai backs in the corner. Tensai with the mist! Iron Claw to Punk! Pin to the mat. 1…2…3!!
Winner: Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan (**1/2)
Lord Tensai may have grown exponentially in Japan, but he’s pretty one note in the WWE.

After the match, Tensai leaves, but Bryan stays inside to pick apart the pieces. He attacks Punk then locks in the Yes! Lock, yelling that Punk is not better than him! The ref eventually breaks the hold only for Bryan to jump back into it and scream out Yes!

End Show.

A somewhat late-arriving crowd showed up for this Raw show in Chattanooga. Lots of Cena shirts. Lots of kids. C.M. Punk shirts were probably a close second. Overall, the performers were pros and gave a good show despite a lackluster crowd. They had a few decent pops, but it seemed like the people just got tired of cheering quickly or just wanted to watch instead of really try to interact with the performers.

To start the show, R-Truth came out to a decent reaction and did his old “What’s Up” rap entrance. He stayed on the mic and told the crowd he had good news and bad news. The bad news was that his partner Kofi Kingston was not there. The good news was that Little Jimmy found him a partner. Out came Santino to another decent reaction. Rosa escorted Primo and Epico out as their opponents.

(1) WWE tag champion R-Truth & U.S. champion Santino beat Epico & Primo (w/Rosa Mendes). One thing I realized while watching this match was that I had no idea which one was Primo and which one was Epico. These guys just lost the Tag Titles and WWE hasn’t made me care enough to know which is which. Truth and Santino both took their share of time working from underneath with 80 percent of the offense in the match from Primo…or was it Epico? Santino tried the Cobra, but was thwarted. Eventually, he landed it and Truth got the cover for the win. Santino went to Primo/Epico’s corner after the match to get his cobra sock back. He threw one to the crowd during his intro, but stuffed this one back in his tights instead of giving it away to a kid. Is his supply running low?

Jack Swagger appeared in a pre-recorded promo. It seemed to me they are taking his character in a different direction and trying it out. He seemed to be selling much more as an arrogant snob than I recall in past promos. Maybe I am wrong about this, but he just seemed to emphasize how much smarter and better he was than the local crowd and Brodus Clay, who he would face later.

Next out was Husky Harris (now Bray Wyatt). He cut a promo as he walked the aisle to the ring. He was wearing a Panama Jack-like white fedora and a Hawaiian type shirt with black pants. They looked like slacks, which struck me as odd for ring attire. His promo was totally forgettable non-sense that can be paraphrased as “I am the bad guy. You need to boo me.” (If you read that last quote with a long Southern drawl, you got all you need to know about it.) I kind of liked Husky on NXT, but I don’t think this character is going to make it. Zack Ryder then came out to another decent pop, but again, the crowd wasn’t all that helpful.

(2) Zack Ryder beat Husky Harris (Bray Wyatt). Bray…er…Husky…looked passable in the ring. He did wear a black tanktop (to go with his black slacks?) to cover his less-than-stellar physique. The ring work in this match was really not anything special. In fact, I barely remember a move of it. I am going to put the blame a little more on Husky for that than I am Zack. Overall, a match everyone seemed to be looking forward to ending quickly to move on to more interesting things.

(3) Lord Tensai beat JTG & Tyson Kidd in a handicap match. Just as the bell rang in what was announced as Tyson Kidd vs. JTG in a singles bout, Eve came out to tell the crowd she had just received a text from Executive VP of Talent Relations, Mr. Excitement, John Laurinaitis, and this match would now be a handicap match with JTG and Kidd teaming up against Lord Tensai. Typical Tensai squash match here. Neither guy got much offense in and even when they did, it didn’t take Tensai off his feet. Eventually, JTG got knocked out of the ring for an extended period of time so that Tensai could green-mist Kidd and get the pin. Tensai is not getting over. He got mild heat during his intro, but for the most part this audience just wanted this match to be over with quickly.

(4) Brodus Clay (w/Hornswoggle) beat Jack Swagger. Brodus, Naomi, and Cameron came out first. Hornswoggle was with them in his matching red jogging suit. Good pop for Brodus. He is getting over with the kids and parents in the crowd. Swagger began the match very slowly, stalling for time and rolling out of the ring to confront fans. Brodus took several comedy shots at Swagger’s new comb-over hairstyle. 80 percent of the offense in this match went to Clay. Swagger controlled the action very little and played the part of the crafty, “not looking for a head-to-head fight” heel pretty well. Brodus eventually scored with his pinning sequence and they did the usual “dance with the kids in the ring to celebrate” bit.

[Intermission]

(5) Eve beat Kelly Kelly. Kelly came to the ring hugging kids every-so-often along the railing, then she hugged some dude wearing a C.M. Punk shirt. WTH? After that, it was a Divas match. Thankfully, it was a relatively quick match (rather long by Divas match standards), but still a relatively quick match. Eve played the heel and got the win.

The actor Dennis Haskins (“Mr. Belding” from Saved By The Bell) was announced in attendance and took a bow. He is a Chattanooga native and a big WWE fan, having appeared on Zack Ryder’s YouTube show and on Raw.

Next was John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler. Before the match, Ziggler cut a promo in the ring explaining that he is the future of WWE. He also said that in order to secure his path as the future, he needed someone to watch his back. He introduced Mason Ryan as the guy who is, “from now on,” going to be that guy who will watch his back while he does what he does best. Cena came to ring with the expected big pop. He was still selling the arm injury from Brock Lesnar, and that came into a play a ton during the match.

(6) John Cena beat Dolph Ziggler (w/Mason Ryan). The ref got bumped at one point during the match and Ryan came into the ring and gave some offense to Cena. He pulled Dolph on top and woke up the ref for what looked like was going to be the win, but guess what happened? If you said Cena kicked out at two-and-three-fourths, you are qualified to be a part of the Creative team. Cena rallied while still selling the arm and hit the AA for the win. Two things stood out to me: (1) Cena looked tired to me. (2) Dolph Ziggler is the future of WWE. I just hope they realize it.

(7) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Title. I have to hand it to Punk. He really worked the crowd at this event trying to get any sort of spark he could from them. Don’t misunderstand, he was very over with them, but as I said at the beginning, they just didn’t give the performers a lot of good feedback to play off. I was a little surprised this was not a gimmick match – just a regular, old match, which was fine with me. These guys can both perform at a very high level in a regular, old match, so I was happy. Both guys were pros and gave a good show, but there weren’t any major high spots that I can recall. Afterward, Punk gave the crowd a decent amount of face time and sent them home happy.

Biggest Face Reactions:

- John Cena
- C.M. Punk
- Brodus Clay

Biggest Heat:

- Dolph Ziggler
- Eve
- Jack Swagger

Very similar to the Asheville show, with some lineup changes. 800-900 people, hot crowd.

1) Usos and Great Khali d. Hunico, Camacho, Jinder Mahal. Khali over huge with the crowd. The Uso’s entrance is really cool live. They interacted with the crowd well, and Hunico ate the pin after a Chokeslam.

2) Ryback sqashes Slater. Slater got 2 moves in before Ryback ate him for lunch. Crowd loves Ryback.

3)Layla over Nattie (Divas Title match)– 15 minutes of great divas action. These women need more time on TV. Many high impact moves from Nattie, and back and forth action. A good match.

4) Bo Rotundo over Drew McIntyre. Drew gets on the stick and tells us that he is done losing, like all of the people in CHarleston. Bo looks raw, and gets a sunset flip winner.

5) Randy Orton over Kane, No DQ. All in the ring, but Kane used Kendo sticks and chairs. Randy gets the win after a RKO on a chair. I got to give Randy credit, he stayed and shook EVERYONE’s hand at ringside. His music went through 3-4 cycles.

6) Christian over Yoshi Tastu. Christian tells us that he needs one more match for the title. Killswitch, match over.

7) Show over Cody Rhodes via DQ. Comedy match of the night. Show did all of the bits with the chops and Chimel holding up the mic, and Cody bumped his ass off. They even did a bit with a rubber chicken, with Chimel helping out Show. Chairshot gets the DQ.

Sheamus over Daniel Bryan and Alberto del Rio. Exact same match from Asheville. Arm worked over all match, Bryan whipped into ADR while attempting YES lock, Brouge Kick, win.

Great show!!

Pops: Sheamus, Orton, Show/Usos
Heat: Christian, Bryan, ADR

Half the arena was sectioned off with black curtains. The upper level was cut off. The arena holds around 22,500. There were about 5,000 in attendance since half of the seats in the lower level is empty.

1. R-Truth and Santino Marella defeated Epico and Primo (w/Rosa). R-Truth came out and said that he had bad news and said Kofi Kingston couldn’t make it tonight but had a special surprise for us. Santino came out. Rosa was looking extremely hot. Santino hit The Cobra on Epico about four minutes in and Primo came in to break up the pinfall. Epico and Primo took The Cobra away from Santino and played keep away. A good match overall, around 10 minutes, and the win went to Santino and R-Truth.

Jack Swagger appeared in the big screen and did a nice promo to set up Swagger vs. Brodus Clay.

The next match was scheduled to be JTG vs Tyson Kidd. John Laurinaitis announced that JTG and Tyson Kidd would team up to take on Lord Tensai in a handicap match.

2. Lord Tensai beat JTG and Tyson Kidd. Lord Tensai manhandled JTG at the start of the bell. Lord Tensai spit the green mist on his hand and hit his finisher and got the win in five minutes.

3. Zack Ryder defeated a developmental wrestler. Ryder won in five minutes.

4. Brodus Clay (w/dancers, Hornswoggle) defeated Jack Swagger. This place came unglued for Brodus Clay. Horny came out with Brodus Clay and the women dancers. Swagger came out alone. No Vickie. Both were in the middle of the ring for a small face off and Swagger went to the ropes and Brodus did a standing shoulder block and knocked Swagger back a couple of feet. Brodus did his famous jiggle booty shaking.

A few minutes went by and Swagger was back on offense and had Brodus on the mat. Horny came up on the ring apron and got Swagger’s attention. Brodus recovered and attacked Swagger with a few bumps and hit his finisher for the win. The match time was five minutes. Brodus brought in around six kids to dance with him, Horny, and the women. A fan held a sign in front of Brodus that said Brodus likes Horny because Horny is the perfect height for…… dancing!

Intermission. Justin Roberts made some sells for the program book and autograph photos of CM Punk and John Cena. After the intermission, around 25 to 30 minutes, the Divas match started.

5. Eve beat Kelly Kelly. A huge Hoeski chant broke out and Eve got on the turnbuckle and extended her arms out during the chant and smiled. Kelly jumped up on another turnbuckle from across the ring and put her arms up and the crowd responded very well considering it was a Divas match. Kelly Kelly went on the attack first and did her screaming bit. Both women were very beautiful tonight and even though I decided to get up and go get a coke, it seemed like a good match from what I saw. Eve pinned Kelly Kelly in five minutes.

Ziggler came to the ring to cut a promo and actually did a good job during his promo. He introduced Mason Ryan as an extra insurance policy and promised he would never lose again with his added insurance. John Cena’s music played and the crowd went crazy, the loudest so far of the night. Knoxville seems to be pro Cena.

6. John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler (w/Mason Ryan). Cena had his elbow and upper arm taped heavily. Cena even tried to take his shirt off and even had problems doing so, you could actually see the pain in his face. Granted, he may possibly be injured but if not did a good job selling it. Cena did his usual running block and held his arm in pain each time he ran into Ziggler. I tried to get the Let’s go Cena/Cena sucks chant but nobody wanted to chime in on the Cena sucks part.

Dolph had control through most of the match then it started going back and forth. Cena did some nice reversals. Cena went for an early STF and Ziggler kicked him away. Ziggler started going back to work on Cena’s left arm and elbow. Ziggler did a handstand in the middle of the ring using Cena’s body as support. Cena lifted up Ziggler and tried an AA even though I think he messed up somewhat. Cena did his You Can’t See Me and hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Ziggler, and Ziggler kicked out. Ziggler had Cena down again and Cena powered back and tried another AA. Ziggler countered and fell off Cena’s shoulders which in turn knocked the referee down.

Cena went for the STF and Ziggler was tapping out but no referee, then Mason Ryan came in and attacked Cena from behind. The ref came around and Cena kicked out around two and a half. Cena went for the AA and got the pin, Cena won in 15 minutes. Overall, a very good match between Cena and Ziggler. Mason is a huge man for sure. I was in row three and I had trouble looking around him when he was standing in front of me. On a side note, Cena asked for the mic and started to sing Rocky Top and the crowd joined in.

7. C.M. Punk defeated Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Championship. The match started out very slow but worked up to a very well match overall. A lot of action between the two going back and forth. My cell phone actually died out on me during this match. Y2J hit a Codebreaker on Punk, who went for the GTS a couple times but was unsuccessful. Punk did his “Macho Man” from the top turnbuckle and finally a GTS on Y2J for the win.

The match lasted a good 15 minutes if not longer. Punk grabbed a microphone and then talked to actual WWE security and said there were two kids who had birthdays. He got the kids in the ring to sing happy birthday. The crowd joined in singing. The boy held the WWE Championship belt and had a little trouble holding it up at times but was all smiles. Punk then went around the ringside and greeted the crowd afterwards. This closed out the show.

Notes: Overall, a very good house show tonight in Knoxville even though only around 5,000-7,000 fans showed up in the seats. The stage looks awesome even though it is smaller than the Raw or Smackdown stages. I went to Raw last year in Knoxville and would say that tonight’s show was ten times better than Raw. The whole feel to a house show is very different than Raw or Smackdown. I would recommend anyone that has not ever been to a house show to go check it out. Very long lines for WWE merchandise before, during, and after the show.
