Early iMPACT! Rating + Big Mexico Event Cancelled
By Ryan Clark on July 28, 2012
– CMLL announced on Friday afternoon that they canceled Friday night’s Arena Mexico show due to security concerns. There was a large protest going on at Televisa’s headquarters a few blocks away from the arena and there was concern over potential security issues.
The protest was held due to the fact that Televisa was accused of encouraging people to vote for Enrique Peña Nieto for President of Mexico. Nieto won the election and protestors believe that Televisa’s influence made the difference by virtue of bias toward him and against opponent Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Televisa has denied the accusation
– Thursday night’s episode of iMPACT! Wrestling did 1,578,000 viewers, up from last week’s 1,316,000 viewers. The exact household rating is not available yet but it should be around a 1.1 cable rating.
By comparison, last week’s rating was a 0.91 and the last comparable viewership (May 10th) was a 1.1 rating with 1.53 million viewers.
We should have the final number on Monday.
