WWE’s creative committee is rumored to be leaning towards CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship next Monday on RAW when John Cena is supposed to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. According to sources, there is a lot of talk within the organization that Cena will be the first person to not win a title directly after cashing in the briefcase. The feeling is that Cena is the one guy that can handle losing the cash in. They also could have The Big Show or The Rock cost Cena the match, which keeps Punk as champion and sidetracks Cena into another feud. There was also talk at RAW this week that there would be a major angle between John Cena and CM Punk next week where somehow Cena would keep his Money in the Bank briefcase. It’s almost guaranteed that this will change numerous times before RAW next week so take this with a grain of salt for now.

Triple H recently directed that title reigns should be longer in order to build the importance of the belts. As you know by now, both CM Punk and Sheamus retained their titles at Money in the Bank.

We noted yesterday that Cena’s Money in the Bank win was made within the last few weeks. At one point, he was going to be given the pay-per-view off.

It would be awesome if he was the first to loose.

CM Punk will come to the ring and talk about how he’s changed WWE after one whole year. He’ll say it’s an honor that he’s WWE Champion on the 1000th Raw. The Rock’s music hits and he comes to the ring. He says he wants to be WWE Champion by next year’s WrestleMania and he wonders if he should take the title right now. Punk will make a joke about how the title will be vacated due to Rock not appearing in 30 days. They get serious when Cena comes out and says that he’s cashing in tonight and Rock has to wait for that. The Rock says he’s THE ROCK and doesn’t have to wait for anything. He reminds Cena he beat him at WrestleMania and if Cena is champion, he can just do it again. He asks Cena to save himself from the embarrassment of losing twice and just give him the briefcase. Cena tells him he’ll have to pry it from his dead hands because he’s cashing in that case tonight. Rock then asks him to wait. If he really wants to prove that he’s better than The Rock, Cena should put that briefcase on the line at SummerSlam. The better man will come out on top and will go on to become WWE Champion. CM Punk chimes in that the winner will only get a crack at losing to him, because he isn’t losing that title no matter what. Punk then tells Cena to ignore Dwayne’s dumb challenge because he has an appointment tonight to tap out to the Anaconda Vise.

Cena gets angry and says that he’s sick of being talked down to like a loser. He says he lost last year at SummerSlam to CM Punk and lost this year at WrestleMania to The Rock, but he can beat them both. He knows he can and he’s sick of being told otherwise. He tells Rock he accepts his challenge and will face off against him at SummerSlam, but it won’t be for the briefcase, it will be for the WWE title. He says he’s beating Punk tonight for the WWE title and taking him on. The Rock says he doesn’t like that plan because he knows Cena will lose. Cena tells him to wait and see.

Later in the night, CM Punk and Steve Austin have a talk backstage. Punk tells Austin he wants to know if Austin will ever have the balls to come back and face him. Austin just smirks and wishes good luck to CM Punk in the main event. Punk tells him that luck is for losers, and then says Austin is going to need luck whenever he crosses paths with him.

In the main event, Cena and Punk give it everything they have, but both The Rock and Steve Austin make it to the ring and beat the living hell out of both of them! The Rock and Austin hit them with Rock Bottoms and Stunners and say that they are bringing Attitude back.

The next week, Triple H gives Cena back his briefcase and says that what happened last week was unfair. Cena then tells The Rock they still have their match for SummerSlam and he hopes The Rock doesn’t back out of it, because he’s putting the briefcase on the line. He tells The Rock he’ll pay for last week.

CM Punk calls out Steve Austin and Triple H comes out instead and says that unlike Rock, Austin isn’t contracted to wrestle. He says Punk can’t face Austin. Punk tells Triple H to focus his attention on lawyering around Brock Lesnar, because he doesn’t need him to hog the spotlight here as well. He says that he wants Austin at SummerSlam. Triple H tells him to drop it OR ELSE. Punk makes fun of him. Triple H tells him he’ll be defending the WWE title in a triple threat match at SummerSlam. Punk tells him it doesn’t matter, he won’t drop it. Triple H says it’s now a Fatal 4 Way. Punk says he can add how many people he wants, he’ll WIN and then go on to kick both Austin and Triple H’s asses. Triple H makes it 5 men. He tells Punk to drop it immediately. Punk shoves Triple H. He says it will now be a Six-Pack Challenge. Punk says it doesn’t matter, he’ll beat them all. Triple H says Punk needs to, because it will now be an elimination match. He tells him he wants Austin bad. He says Triple H knows how this feels, because that’s why he’s facing Lesnar at SummerSlam as well. Triple H says he can’t have this. Punk says Triple H is spineless and weak. He tells him to give the audience what they want. Triple H says “Win at SummerSlam and then we’ll talk”. Triple H belittles Punk and walks away, but Punk nails him with a GTS.

At SummerSlam, we get Rock/Cena II, Lesnar/Triple H and a six-pack challenge for the WWE title involving Punk, Bryan, Kane, Cody, Rey and Del Rio.
