Lanny Poffo Supportive Of National Randy Savage Day
By Ryan Clark on March 9, 2013
TMZ reports that Randy Savage’s brother Lanny Poffo is on board with the idea of a national holiday devoted to the “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Mandatory.com petitioned the government (which you sign here) to make May 20, the day Savage died in 2011, an official “Day of Remembrance.”
It reads: “Macho Man Randy Savage was a national treasure loved by everyone … no matter if you knew him from Slim Jim commercials or his wrestling career, you felt a deep connection with Savage … keep his legacy alive for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.”
Poffo said that he is happy that fans want to honor Savage this way and is completely supporting. He added: “The fans will never let Randy die. He made it cool to love wrestling.”
The petition needs 100,000 signatures by April 4 to get the Obama Administration to review it. As of this writing, it only has 2,761 signatures so there is a LONG way to go. You can sign the petition by clicking here.
