Man Who Got Shot Upset Over Punk’s Title Loss

ABC affiliate WSYR featured a story on their newscast last night about a local man, 77-year-old Thomas Dotterer, who last week was shot in the eye during the robbery of a liquor store he owns in Syracuse, NY.

Dotterer, who will likely lose his vision, is back to work already, but noted that losing the eye wasn’t the worst thing that happened to him in the last week. No, it was The Rock defeating CM Punk for the WWE title.

The anchor covering the story sent messages to Punk and Rock via Twitter and Punk wrote back asking if the story was true and that he “needed to see the footage”. They shared the footage with Punk, who responded, “Tom Dotterer is amazing. He’s got my respect. If he needs anything from me let me know.”

You can check out the story and video from the broadcast at this link.

Wow any question about how brain washed Punk fans are? This idiot gets shot in the eye and will most likely cause him to lose his vision which is truly tragic: Yet the worst thing that happened to him is a movie star beat a fake wrestler in a fake fight…..

He has something that u probably don’t have, a sense of humor.

Actually I do have a sense of humor. Perhaps it was premature for me to comment without watching the video. But I am a human being capable of making mistakes, this clearly was one of them. My bad for not getting a full view of the story before commenting.

Wow, you’re a true idiot. It’s clearly a tongue-in-cheek comment, and Punk showed tons of class with his post. Where was Rock at? Oh yeah, probably too busy making movies to even know who this guy is. I don’t get how Punk fans are brainwashed. We just know what good wrestling is.

Punk fans are brainwashed (a majority of them anyhow) by the fact that anything good he does it’s all him nobody else, anything bad he is involved in is all creative and “the man” holding him down. Punk in my opinion excels in WWE due to the fact the roster is as weak as it is. Does that mean Punk is not good? nope, he may very well be the best in WWE…but I think we all agree that’s not saying much.

Judging by the 0 likes on your post, I would say you’re speaking for the minority, not the majority. And if you watched Punk’s documentary then you would know that Punk writes his own Promos and has heavy influence in every angle he is in ever since his contract was about to expire. So yes, fans should give him a lot of credit for the things he does. Punk is better on the mic then anyone was in the last 25 years because he doesn’t need to resort to crappy catchphrases to get people to listen, and if you think he isn’t great in the ring, then you shouldn’t be a wrestling fan.

Now thats a real fan. Get well Thomas!

  • Don’t forget that fans of punk that are adults and like good wrestling will be also deemed as young teens by his haters that can’t get out of the attitude era. Was a total class act on punk’s part to reach out like that.
