MUST READ: Scott Hall Is Trying Hard …. For All Of You

As noted late last night here on the website, DDP has posted an update on Scott Hall, saying that Hall has been sober for forty days now but needs to raise $80,000 to pay for his hip replacement surgery, physical therapy, dental work and his other medical expenses. DDP says that, similar to Jake Roberts has, he believes that Hall’s health can improve and has promised to manage any donated money. Scott currently has no health insurance which makes these medical bills insanely high.

You can (and should if you have a few extra dollars) contribute via IndieGoGo at this link. As noted, DDP is managing all of the money that is taken in. Scotty really needs this guys. Say what you want about his past but the guy is currently on the right path and has the guidance of DDP and others now. He deserves this and I’d urge you to donate if you’ve got anything to spare …. even if it’s $10.

It should be noted that the “mansion” he owned was recently foreclosed by the bank so he no longer owns it and can’t make anything from it. As I noted on my Facebook page, it is unreal to see some of the comments on the Hall post(s). Don’t want to donate? …. simply don’t as that is your choice and nobody is forcing you to do so. With that being said, please don’t bitch and moan at the people who do have a heart and want to help out. We’ll be re-posting this article several times throughout the next week or so and I’m sure I’ll take some “heat” for it. The bottom line is this – addiction is a powerful disease and he’s currently on the right path with DDP. The truth is Scott doesn’t want to ask for your help as he says in the video below. Anyone who knows him will tell you that same exact thing. Lots of people don’t seem to understand the power of addiction … or have a heart .. and they are likely the ones posting unnecessary comments. It’s easy to knock a man when he’s down. Simply ignore them guys. The past is the past and right now he’s got the right people around him and is currently 41 days sober. That’s a big accomplishment and gets a HUGE congratulations from all of us here on the website. If anything, you’ve got to give him credit for that and for trying to better his life.

Once again, you can donate money to Scott by clicking here.

Scott tweeted the following today: Just saw whats happening on indiegogo. Speechless. Thanks

He also tweeted the following to his best friend Kevin Nash: Big Kev Im actually on the computer from Dally’s house in Atlanta.Love Scott

If that’s not enough, please view the following new video from Scott where he thanks all of you and is trying his hardest for all of you guys:

Get well soon Scott …. we’re all rooting for you bro!

We’ll allow comments below as all of you guys are entitled to your opinions … just keep them clean, cool? The other thread was getting out of hand so we removed ALL comments. Nothing personal … was just getting a little crazy there for awhile. Thanks to all of you for your continued support of ProWrestlingSCOOPS.com. I respect the hell outta’ you guys and can’t thank you enough. The comments section is a great way to meet new people and talk about something we all love – pro wrestling. Have a great weekend!

“He deserves this”. He deserves this? Please, tell me why he deserve this? And don’t give me “He put his body on the line for you” because no he wasn’t doing it for you, he was doing it for a paycheck. Same as everytime he turned up so inebriated to shows that he couldn’t talk let alone walk. He was never doing it for you, for for us, but for Scott Hall and his bank account.

*I implore all of you who are considering giving this guy your money – GIVE IT TO CHARITY INSTEAD*

The guy had it all and he lost it. Yet you think he’s fitting of being given yet another $80,000 by people he couldn’t give two shits about. I saw “dental” being one of the things included in the things that he needs doing. Dental? Seriously? Is that imperative to him turning himself around? Hell ,make it $100,000 and let’s get the guy a new car too. Give me a break. Let him earn the money himself. Make him do something.

Fuck you Hall for wasting what you had and letting good hearted (if somewhat gullible and misguided) people waste their money on you. And fuck you Clark for pushing this so hard and saying people who don’t donate “don’t have a heart”.

  • Botch Cara

We’re not talking about a cancer victim, a paraplegic or an aids sufferer here – we’re talking about a guy who had it all and wasted it. A guy who had what so many of you have dreamed your whole lives of having.
It honestly saddens me that people will just hand him 80k like that. It’s too easy. I’m not a part of the camp that’s saying “he’ll spend it on booze”, I’m just saying it’s an awful lot of money to give a man who hasn’t earned it.

  • Ncd101

Scott hall doesn’t deserve any money in my opinion. I agree with the other two comments, he had it all and blew it, besides 80,000 for a hip? Your telling me he has no insurance? Not sure i buy that one, a family member had a hip replaced a few years ago, before insurance paid it was about 40k, I think we owed about 1,000..seems very strange

    • Dexaw

You find it hard to believe that a drug addict with a history of medical conditions can’t get health insurance in the United States? Wow.

      • Ncd101

I think that if he didnt drink his money away he’d of most likely had the opportunity to be covered by a wrestling company, like WWE, but I don’t think it’s so much “medical conditions” as a history of alcohol addictions, that’s why he can’t get it, ladies and gentlemen, there ARE consequences for your actions

        • Dexaw

Just to be clear, the WWE does not pay for health insurance for its wrestlers because the WWE hires them as “independent contractors” (even though they are clearly exclusive employees). This legal scam allows the WWE to avoid giving them health insurance. The WWE has paid for addiction treatment for past employees but as stated by others, this fundraising effort is for hip surgery so would not full under something the WWE would pay for.

  • Vince McMahon

Get well Scott! You and Jake will be in HOF!

  • heyyo

Nash and hbk cnt help? What about the 2nd man in charge of the money making juggarnaut that is Wwe(hhh) kliq for life rite? So y dnt they handle this money needed situation? Just saying

    • some guy

We dont know about any conversations involving Hall & the Kliq concerning any money. HBK lives a busy life so he might not know. WWE has no problem taking care of any WWE employee with drug rehab but they dont take care of any surgery problems. If they did then Kamala would still be able to walk.

      • heyyo2

Don’t you think the first ppl DDP would have reached out to would have been the kliq?

  • Mr. Man

This man has been in rehab like a 100 times.

You say that we don’t know the power of addiction? Well, Ryan Clark, you are a moron, because my dad was an addict for 10 years and when he stepped into the rehab clinic he came out of there clean and was cleaned until his passing.

I may not know the power of addiction because I haven’t experience it myself.. but I do know the power of will….. and I man who has been in Rehab DOZENS of times and STILL doesn’t manage to get clean does NOT have it.

I appreatiate your love for The legend Scott Hall and I commend you for having a heart, but I will not be donating money for a man who has been helped countless times and has been treated by the top doctors in the world, courtesy of WWE.

I hate to be the pessimist guy… but even if he has been 45 days sober, he will likely go out there in a couple of months and trow away the help that he has been given, just like he has in the past.

He will be not be trowing away my money..

    • http://twitter.com/RyanClarkWZR RyanClark

I believe I said “Lots of people don’t seem to understand the power of addiction” … not ALL people. Sorry to hear about your father. I struggled with addiction as well years ago. I guess I’m a “moron” though … but I can read. :-)

      • Mr. Man

Sorry, I didn’t mean to call you a moron. I just was a little bit mad because I felt that you meant that not wanting to help Scott Hall automatically means that we don’t understand addiction, and having gone trough my experience I felt offended and took it personal. I apologize, personal jabs are not okay.

        • Sly Boots

Lol you didn’t mean to call him a moron? “i didn’t mean to call you a moron but for some reason my fingers typed the word without my brain’s knowledge. They went rogue.”. Own your comment man.

Why are so many ppl giving Ryan shit about wanting to get the word out on Scott’s need of help? It’s ridiculous. I may make fun of what Ryan thinks is BREAKING NEWS and how he reports on non-events sometimes but I can take what he’s attempting to do and appreciate it.

There are lots of people out there that are trying to stay sober and every single day is a struggle. Scott has a big advantage over most because of his legion of fans that want him to get better and are willing to donate funds to help make that happen. A lot of addicts have families that give up on them. I have dealt with a family member addict. It isn’t easy and a lot of times it seems to not be worth it bc of relapses, but I never, EVER (channeled my inner Jericho. Sorry.) knock anyone for trying to help someone that needs it.

  • Dexaw

Like Nash has been saying for years, Scott Hall will get clean when he wants to get clean. If now is that time, great. If it’s not, then I guess people “wasted” their money by helping a guy pay for medical care.

  • http://twitter.com/Shaneoo88 Shane Mead

Much respect for the opinion you guys placed in this news story. People don’t understand the power for support for someone dealing with addiction. It helps them actually want to care about themselves and their own well-being. People you think just being thrown into rehab like Mr. Man below are just idiots…stupid people. “My dad did this” sure you father was able to go into rehab once but everyone is different, each circumstance is different.

People like to talk up wrestling fans, but the majority are ignorant fools who really don’t care about those in the wrestling business.

Everyone should at the very least send some positive energy to Scott Hall and show support.

The cool thing with the indiegogo site is the fact that your contributions do come with something. So it’s not entirely a handout. If you would like an autograph or to be put in the credits or pay for the meet and greet you can. The price may be high cause the proceeds do go to the cause, but you aren’t forced to contribute.

  • PB1978

” With that being said, please don’t bitch and moan at the people who do have a heart and want to help out.” So wait..let me see if I get this right. The people who don’t want to donate, are they heartless because they’re deciding not to give money? You judgmental prick.

Hall has proven time and again that he can’t stay sober. I hope that this time is the last time for him, I REALLY do.
How has Hall proven he’ll be straight with the therapy this time? How has he shown this is sincere?
And as others have said, why can’t his MILLIONAIRE friends be the ones fronting the bill for this? I won’t name names, but you mean to tell me that with all his “boys” in the industry, they can’t cobble together 100K for him?
It’s mind-blowing to me that you had the gall to imply that those who are deciding not to donate are somehow heartless.

  • Since 1990

I for nice am donating call me whatever you want to call it, if he blows my money away whatever man. I know how badly addiction can rip you apart and you can’t control it. I for once want Scott Hall healthy, I helped out Jake. I grew up watching these guys and I wanna be able to see them go out how on their own terms to like Eddie, Benoit, Owen and Umaga. If he doesn’t least he tried man. That’s my take.

  • Larakin

You know what would be funny? If he died.

    • Sly Boots

You know what else would be utterly hilarious? If you did too.

  • Brody

WHO CARES!!!!!!! I rather see him buy a 12 pack of blue light then get his hip fixed….

  • wpm131

I refuse to donate any of my hard earned money to someone who’s partied away more money than I will ever see in my life. But I can check with my neighbor and see if he still has his dead grandma’s wheelchair in his garage, Scott can have that if his hip gets too bad.

  • LilNaitch

Mr Man, be thankful. You were lucky. I am a recovering opiate addict and will never totally get over the damage that was done. Addiction turns you into something you could never imagine yourself being. It’s not nearly all about will power, if it was the success rate would be higher than the relapse rate, and today, the relapse rate is much, MUCH, higher than the success rate. Addiction is something I do not wish on my wrist energy. Takes to you to the deepest, darkest corners of Hell, where way to many of us never return. Be grateful, very grateful that your dad was in the minuscule percentage of people who accomplished recovery in their first attempt, it very easily could’ve went the other way.
Me, personally, I think the more times you’ve tried to recover and failed, the harder it is to try the next time. Scott Hall deserves a tremendous amount of credit for not having given up and still wanting to make a better life for himself.
