Why The Zeb Colter Character Debuted In WWE

Partial Source: Pwinsider

Dutch Mantel being added to Jack Swagger’s character as Zeb Colter was done to help Jack Swagger get over and connect with audiences. While Vince McMahon felt managers were an “antiquated” idea for the business, there has been talk on and off last year of bringing them back full time.

Mantel and Jim Mitchell’s names were mentioned last year in creative discussions. There could be more names brought in to get new talent over, but this is not confirmed.

Ric Flair needs to manage Dolph Ziggler. Aj, Dolph and Big E dont work well together.

I’m pretty sure Big E has breast implants

Look at Paul Heyman. Naturally comparable to Bobby Heenan. Bobby put everyone over. Ted Dibiase brought guys over after he stopped wrestling. The Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart put guys over. Managers should be in wwe.

Smart. Too bad the Brain is in no shape to come back.

  • Vince McMahon

Vickie Guerrero was a great manager.

EXCUSE ME?!? (see what I did there?) Those first 2 words are the only argument I need to prove my point, which is no she wasn’t.

Vicki was a great manager. Her “Clients” become very connected with the audience. She is the ultimate unredeemable heel. Her persona made it easy to get wrestlers into title shot matches and always got attention because everyone HATES her!

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who thinks managers are an “antiquated idea for the business.”

If Paul Heyman wasn’t around I would agree wholeheartedly. Heyman brings a lot to the table. He knows how to turn the screws on fans and is able to generate so much extra heat for whoever he is with. Not unlike Heenan like Maurice said.
