WWE House Show Results 01.12.13 – Alexandria, LA

I went to the Alexandria show Saturday night and it was very good. Matt Striker was ring announcer and did a fairly good job.

(1) Great Khali beat David Otunga. They went back and forth, but Khali won the usual way.

Then, out came 3MB. Only two members wrestled – Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. They faced Justin Gabriel and it sounded like Bo Dallas replacing the injured Tyson Kidd.

(2) Justin Gabriel & Bo Dallas beat 3MB (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal). Decent match with Gabriel’s team winning.

The Divas came out next.

(3) Alicia Fox beat Aksana. Good match with Fox getting the pin.

The first half ended with Barrett vs. Kofi for the IC Title.

(4) IC champion Wade Barrett beat Kofi Kingston to retain the Intercontinental Title. Great match, PPV-caliber. Both men put on a good show for 15 minutes or so before Barrett finally got the pin. He left, only to come back to finish off Kofi, but Kingston hit him with a kick to the back of the head. The fans went nuts.

The second half opened with Damien Sandow coming out to ask three questions. After the questions, Sheamus got a big pop.

(5) Sheamus beat Damien Sandow. Another great match. Sandow was really good, but finally succumbed to the Brogue Kick.

Then, Yoshi Tatsu vs. new guy Fandango.

(6) Fandango beat Yoshi Tatsu. People went to sleep. Actually, most were watching football on their phones. The Fandango gimmick is awful.

Then, Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes.

(7) Randy Orton beat Cody Rhodes in a No DQ match. love the idea that they had fans text either 2/3 Falls or No DQ match. Of course, 95 percent selected No DQ. Excellent match, and Cody was very impressive. Orton kept trying to rip his moustache off. Great back and forth action until Orton hit the RKO. It got a huge pop for the win.

Then, the main event was Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio, but not for the World Title. Show came out to say he revokes his re-match clause because he doesn’t know what city he’s in. Del Rio then came out not to a good pop.

(8) Big Show beat World Hvt. champion Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Horrible match. A lot of missed moves and fake hits. Show got the win.

After the match, Show grabbed the mic and told fans that it’s their fault he lost his World Title, then Sheamus snuck up and gave Show the Brogue Kick to send everyone home happy.

I sat in the ninth row, it was my fourth show here in Alexandria, and it was very good. Barrett vs. Kofi, Sheamus vs. Sandow, and Orton vs. Cody were good matches on PPV level. The rest of card was not so good. I can’t wait for next show.
