WWE House Show Results 2/5 – Salt Lake City, UT

The results for this show were identical to the Spokane house show Saturday night, just with a different ending in the main event.

(1) Great Khali beat Jinder Mahal to kick off the show. Khali received a nice welcome and won with a two-hand chokeslam that he botched. (Khali, botch? No!)

The second match had a special guest ring announcer, Hornswoggle, who introduced both Yoshi Tatsu and Drew McIntyre. Before the match got started, Drew said on the mic that his losing streak ends tonight.

(2) Yoshi Tatsu beat Drew McIntyre. McIntyre’s proclamation was flushed down the toilet, because he lost in a snoozefest of a wrestling match. Even referee Hornswoggle and Tony Chimel were playing games to keep themselves occupied. But, it was saved when Rhodes came out and beat down Tatsu. Then, he grabbed a mic and said he deserved respect.

(3) The Usos beat Tyson Kidd & Heath Slater. This was probably one of the most exciting matches of the night. The Usos are very talented and charismatic and got involved with the crowd. Heath Slater was getting tortured over in his corner by fans, but, afterward, Heath said, “I have more money than you. Shut Up.” I never heard anyone try to verbally attack him for the rest of the night.

(4) Hunico beat Ezekiel Jackson. This was the most forgettable match of the night. Hunico surprisingly took control of the entire match and won. When they left, Rhodes came back yet again, and beat down Ezekiel Jackson before giving him Cross Rhodes. Then, he grabbed the mic yet again and said he didn’t get the respect he was looking for. So, Booker T came out for the next match.

(5) IC champion Cody Rhodes beat Booker T to retain the Intercontinental Title. This wasn’t really any different than any other match these two previously had. As expected, Rhodes won, then began to beat up Booker, but Booker retaliated and gave him the scissors kick. Hornswoggle then did the Tadpole Splash to Cody. Horny and Booker each did a spinarooni.

(6) Alicia Fox beat Natalya with Aksanas as special guest referee. The Divas match had a few botched moves and a Sharpshooter counter into a pin to end the match. As Fox left, Natalya put the Sharpshooter on Aksana, but Tamina saved the day with her splash.

(7) Sheamus beat Wade Barrett in a Street Fight. This was a fans’s choice match and they chose Street Fight. Not much to report – a few shots with a Kendo Stick and a steel chair. Sheamus then won with the Brogue kick.

On to the best match of the night, Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Title. Bryan has unbelievable charisma, as he stirred up plenty of crowd heat. From Casen: I noticed he looked at me a lot because I seemed to be the only one favoring him. And, after the match, I was the only one he gave a high-five to. Proud moment.

(8) Big Show beat World Hvt. champion Daniel Bryan via DQ; Bryan retained the World Title. After some back and forth action, Show hit the WMD to Bryan coming off the top rope, but then McIntyre and Mahal came down to the ring and attacked Big Show. Unlike in Spokane the night before when they beat him down, Show just chokeslammed them both and left. After Bryan woke up and realized he was still champion, he paraded in the ring screaming, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

Randy Orton was not at the show, even though he was advertised in local print and TV ads. It was still an entertaining show.
